What to Expect at this Fall’s Parade of Homes in Omaha

October 1, 20152 CommentsPosted By

We are all aware that online shopping is super convenient. It sometimes even feels like magic! You click a few buttons and an Amazon stork brings a sweater to your doorstep a few days later. But sometimes it’s necessary to drive to a store and run your hands through the fabric of your potential purchase in order to get a better idea of the quality, thickness and sizing.

Likewise, it is helpful to physically visit a house you are considering buying in order to truly take in all there is to know about the property. The way the hardwood feels under your feet, the smell of the fresh paint, the height of the ceiling — these are all things you cannot know with a few clicks from your couch. And home buying is no small thing!

Thankfully, you can walk through Metro Omaha Builder Association’s Fall Parade of Homes in order to get up close and personal with an amazing line-up of homes for sale. This parade is open to the public and will take place on the following days:

Saturday, October 3 12-6 p.m.

Sunday, October 4 12-6 p.m.

Thursday, October 8 3-6 p.m.

Friday, October 9 3-6 p.m.

Saturday, October 10 12-6 p.m.

Sunday, October 11 12-6 p.m.

Even if you’re not in active pursuit of a new home, the parade is a wonderful opportunity to observe builder quality, get design inspiration, or simply give some purpose to your casual afternoon stroll. This event is completely free and open to the public!

It is certainly worth stopping by as many properties as possible in order to get the best overview of the neighborhood, but we have picked out a couple of our favorites.

This two-story home at 8005 S. 193rd Ave. built by Aurora Homes has a gorgeous and unique design. Among many other features, it includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a walk-through mud room, a covered porch and a large pantry with an appliance counter! The luxurious master suite bathroom has granite countertops and a relaxing whirlpool tub. The laundry commute in this home is short because of the upstairs laundry room located near all three of the second-story walk-in closets. We are particularly fond of the high-quality kitchen design and the builder’s attention to details, such as the elegant black knobs and hinges contrasted with white doors.

You only need to travel a few minutes away to visit this next property. This 3-bedroom, 2-bath home at 2610 N. 165th Avenue was built with meticulous detail by Lane Building Corp. The color scheme in the interior emits a warm and inviting feeling and the open floor plan in the kitchen area provides plenty of room for entertaining.

The overall look and feel of the home is wonderful, but we are particularly thrilled about the things you might not notice at a glance, such as the soft-close drawers, under-cabinet lighting, and the roll-outs under the vanity sinks. You might also be thrilled to see the split bedrooms, granite countertops in the kitchen, a walk-in shower and an impressive gas range.
