The city of Omaha hosts a wide variety of events, especially this time of year. One weekend event we are particularly looking forward to is the Autumn Festival: An Arts & Crafts Affair at Ralston Arena on November 5-8. Do not take the word “festival” lightly when planning your visit to this event — it isn’t a small craft fair with a handful of booths. In fact, the Autumn Festival was voted one of the top 100 shows in the country according to Sunshine Artist Magazine. We’re convinced that part of the wow factor for this event is its size.
The Autumn Festival will showcase handcrafted work from hundreds of the nation’s finest artists and crafters, specializing in various wares. They range from handmade paper, metal sculptures, iron works, baskets, home decor, quilts, paintings, dolls, angels, bears, wearable art, jewelry, primitive crafts, furniture, folk art, toys, photography, florals, seasonal crafts and more.
The 2015 Autumn Festival schedule is as follows:
Thursday, November 5: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday, November 6: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Saturday, November 7: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday, November 8: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Gather your kids, grandpa, sisters, mom and friends for a fun, creative and interactive day at the Autumn Festival at Ralston Arena. It surely will be “an arts and crafts affair” — and may we submit, the perfect opportunity to find some one-of-a-kind holiday presents. Imagine being ahead of the game with your shopping this year, and unveiling a unique, handmade item to top it off!
To aid in the artistic expression department, national and local performers will entertain attendees with various acts, including folk and country singers, cloggers, bluegrass musicians, variety singers, stiltwalkers, jugglers and magicians. You can also enter into hourly gift certificate drawings, enjoy food and drinks, and participate in other forms of family fun.
Worried about expensive parking? Don’t worry — parking is free in the Ralston Arena lot, and you can find additional free shuttle parking from Fun Plex.
To further relieve any financial concerns, the costs for tickets aren’t too expensive whatsoever. Adult tickets are $8, senior tickets are $7 and children under 10 years old are free. Purchase tickets to the event in advance to streamline your entry experience.
Mark your calendars for November 5-8! Celebrate the work of specialized artisans with your presence at this fun four-day festival.
