It’s a wonderful thing when a minor holiday that doesn’t merit a day off from work falls on the weekend. That way, you don’t have to worry about squeezing in a celebration after a long workday, or postponing your festivities to another day entirely. Thankfully, 2016 is one of those years where Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday!
This coincidence got us thinking. Having Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday free from work and other weekday obligations made us want to help you do something big this year. Why not take Valentine’s Day to the next level by turning it into a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway instead? You can either carefully plan a getaway alongside your valentine or surprise them with a romantic trip to make the weekend that much more special! Either way, there are several places surrounding the Omaha area that would make for an unforgettable and romantic weekend destination. Some are close, some are far, but all are spectacular.
