As the snow falls, we dash around finding gifts for our loved ones, bake cookies for our kids’ school functions, and prepare meals for the holiday parties we’re hosting. All this while partaking in the fun family outings that take place this time of year!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

November 17, 7:30 p.m.

Mid-America Center, Council Bluffs

Trans-Siberian Orchestra puts on one of the world’s most popular Christmas shows in hair-raising rock opera style. You’ve probably heard their recorded songs and albums, but if you haven’t seen their live show, take this opportunity! Rock, lights, smoke and fire — they have it all. Irving Berlin’s White Christmas  

November 17 – 20

Orpheum Theater, Omaha

This musical is based on the classic Christmas movie of the same name, and have already put on two phenomenal shows in Omaha. Seward Junior Women’s Holiday Craft Show

November 19, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Seward Fairgrounds, AG Pavilion and Harvest Hall, Seward

Seward Junior Women’s Club is a social organization with a philanthropic focus. Their holiday craft show is one of the best holiday shopping events in the area — so you don’t want to miss their 36th annual event where you’ll find over 100 vendors with handmade crafts, foods, home goods, decor and more.

 

Jitterbugs’ Night Out: Black Friday

November 25, 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.

The Eagles Ballroom, Omaha

Every Friday night, Jitterbugs Omaha hosts an open party and dance extravaganza. On Black Friday, they’ll be dancing the night away and giving away prizes and Christmas gifts! Join them at 8:15 for a swing dancing lesson before the crowds file in for the main event.

 

Thanksgiving Lighting Ceremony

November 24, 6 – 7 p.m.

Gene Leahy Mall, 14th & Farnam, Omaha

After Thanksgiving dinner, join our community for the opening ceremony of Omaha’s Holiday Lights Festival. At 6 p.m. we’ll begin the countdown and by the end, all of Gene Leahy Mall will be lit up for the holidays!

For the fifth year, the lights will also be shining in North and South Omaha. Join both areas for their lighting ceremonies on December 3rd.

 

Making Spirits Bright Holiday Concert

November 24, 7 p.m.

Holland Performing Arts Center, Omaha

Stick around after the Thanksgiving Lighting Ceremony for this free, family-friendly concert! Vocalist Drew Duncan and the Nebraska Wind Symphony will put on a festive and exciting show to welcome the winter holidays.

As part of the Holiday Lights Festival, you can enjoy holiday music in downtown Omaha every Saturday until Christmas Eve. A new chorale group will perform for each outdoor show as you relax in the winter wonderland and shop for gifts.

 

The Priests  

November 28, 7 p.m.

Holland Performing Arts Center, Omaha

The Priests is a musical trio from Northern Ireland made up of three Roman Catholic priests. Their debut album in 2008 broke the Guinness World Record for Fastest Selling Classical Debut Album of All Time. Since then, they’ve been growing and touring across the globe. They even performed for the British Royal Family and the Irish President. Now, they’re coming to Omaha to play a benefit concert for you!

 

The TEN Tenors: Home for the Holidays

10th Annual Holiday Beerfest

Beer Corner USA collected the best seasonal and holiday brews in the Midwest to celebrate winter at their 10th Annual Holiday Beerfest. Santa Goes to Space

Strategic Air & Space Museum, Omaha

The Strategic Air & Space Museum is bringing together Santa Claus and the Imperial Stormtroopers of the 501st Legion (that’s right, Star Wars!) to celebrate the holiday season. Children will be able to meet Santa and even sit inside the Museum’s mini-F4 fighter jet. The museum will also be filled with space-related booths, free planetarium showings and holiday music. The event is free with museum admission.

 

The Nutcracker

Ballet Nebraska is bringing The Nutcracker back this holiday season. With 150 dancers and over 240 costumes, it’s always an unforgettable show — and perfect for welcoming the holidays! There will be two shows on Saturday and one on Sunday. Get your tickets now before they sell out!

 

Wells Fargo Family Festival

Conagra Brands Ice Skating Rink

10th Street between Dodge and Capitol Streets, Omaha

Throughout the entire holiday season, skate in the Omaha Holiday Lights Festival skating rink, sponsored by Conagra Brands. Five dollar admission goes directly to Food Bank for the Heartland and Conagra Brands has promised to match donations dollar for dollar, up to $100,000. This is one of the food bank’s largest benefit events, so come out to skate for a good cause!

 

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical

Adapted from the beloved TV classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical is coming to Omaha for just one day. To close the Omaha Holiday Lights Festival and the holiday season, the city is celebrating with a New Year’s Eve firework show. One of the largest displays in the region, it is expected to bring in over 30,000 people — so find a spot early! Tune into STAR 104.5 during the show for the music accompaniment. Then, celebrate the New Year in downtown Omaha!
