What to Do in Aksarben Village This Summer

Arksarben Village is a gorgeous community full of things to do all year long, but summer is when it really comes alive! With the picturesque Stinson Park located right in the heart of the village along with an abundance of retail shops and incredible restaurants — you’ll never run out of things to do in this adorable neighborhood.

To help you start planning your summer adventures, we rounded up some of the essential events in Aksarben Village this season. On this list, you’ll find everything from incredible musical events to charity fun runs!

Omaha Farmers’ Market

When: Sundays, May-October, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

There’s nothing better on a warm summer day than strolling through rows and rows of fresh produce, homemade baked goods and gorgeous flowers. This year, you can stop by the Omaha Farmers Market in Stinson Park at Aksarben Village on Sundays from May through October and peruse goods from a massive variety of local vendors. Before you go, make sure to grab an iced coffee from Roast Coffeehouse to keep you hydrated while you’re shopping!


Saturdays at Stinson Concert Series

When: Saturdays, 7-10 p.m.

Stinson Park in Aksarben Village offers one of the best spots to see live music in the greater Omaha area. The state-of-the-art stage and abundant green space make it the perfect spot to settle in for a show on a summer evening. This season, there are plenty of live concerts happening in the park featuring fantastic local bands, food and drink vendors and face painting balloon artists — all for free! So, grab your lawn chairs and blankets and head over to see one (or all) of these incredible local artists this summer.


Nebraska Flood Relief Concert with Rob Riccardo

When: June 14, 7-9 p.m.

On the eve of the High Vibe Festival, stop by Stinson Park and support our amazing community! Singer-songwriter Rob Riccardo with the help of Lotus House of Yoga will be putting on a fundraising concert to benefit the victims of Nebraska’s 2019 flooding. Everyone is welcome at this donation-based event, so bring your whole family out to enjoy a great show and lend a helping hand.


High Vibe Festival

When: June 15, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

The High Vibe Festival is back again for its third year, bringing the Omaha area plenty of “high vibrations” and a whole lot of fun!  At this unique event, you’ll be able to participate in a 5K, enjoy yoga all day, try delicious plant-based foods from local vendors and experience a free evening concert. 7th Annual Ribstock BBQ Festival

When: July 27, 12-10 p.m.

Good barbeque and community? Yes, please! The Ribstock BBQ Festival is back once again and ready to bring people together over barbeque and helping those in need. At this mouthwatering event, you can enjoy delicious barbeque from all over the Midwest while benefiting local charities! Since its inception, Ribstock has raised thousands of dollars for Millard Business Community Foundation, Project Wee Care and The Scholarship Fund. And in 2019, they plan to raise even more — so head out and eat some good grub for a good cause!


Maha Music Festival

When: August 16, 5 p.m.-12 a.m. & August 17, 12 p.m.-12 a.m.

The Maha Music Festival is one of the biggest independent music festivals in the country, and one of the most popular Omaha events of the year! This year, the event will feature an impressive selection of local food, drinks, games, rides and activities along with some live performances from plenty of remarkable bands.


CASA Superhero Festival & 5K

When: August 24, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

This year, the CASA Superhero run will be expanding into an all-day family festival with food, music, games and tons of other attractions! The event will begin in the morning with a 5K run, a 1K Fun Run and a pancake breakfast. After you’ve gotten some exercise in, the fun will continue with food vendors, a beverage tent, musical performances and games — all to raise awareness about children in foster care.
