It’s avocado season, and you know what that means! Fresh guacamole, salads, and, of course, the famous “millennial food” avocado toast is on the menu once again.
Today, to celebrate the season and the cult following this dish has garnered in recent years, we’re talking about our favorite spots to get avocado toast in Omaha. Whether you want to eat it for brunch, lunch, dessert or as a mid-day snack, these restaurants and coffee shops are here to curb your avo-cravings.
After Omaha staple Beansmith Coffee closed their doors in 2018, coffee director Ian Wiese purchased their assets and launched a roasting and retail company of his own: Rally Coffee Co. They opened their doors a few years ago to almost immediate success in the NoDo neighborhood. Their 1,200-square-foot space offers up a modern and pristine aesthetic—perfect for Instagram pics and quick coffee runs in the morning! They have several different toasts on their menu, from sunflower seed to hummus and avocado. Pair a few pieces with a delicious cortado for a perfect well-rounded breakfast!

For breakfast, you can’t do better than Over Easy! This popular breakfast and lunch hub is set in a bright and airy dining room, and offers an ever-changing menu featuring only fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The flavors of Nebraska truly shine through in the restaurant’s staples, which include biscuits and gravy, several Benedicts, and an avocado toast that will make your taste buds sing. Rotella’s multi-grain bread, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled onions, sriracha aioli and soft poached eggs—yum!
Bailey’s has been family–owned and –operated in Omaha since 2007. They’re famous across town for their breakfast, so it’s a good thing they serve it all day. Their avocado toast features oat toast topped with a creamy avocado spread, sunny-side-up eggs and a little homemade pico de gallo. Pair it with a few pieces of their bacon—which may just be the best in Omaha!
Zen Coffee Company is a woman-owned, family-built, green-certified business located in downtown Omaha. Their goal is to bring people together over a shared love of quality coffee beans and delicious espresso drinks. Their coffee is roasted by Dapper & Wise, who shares their mission of bringing responsibly sourced coffee to Omaha. But while people visit Zen for the coffee, they stay for the avocado toast, boasting a cream cheese spread, fresh avocado slices and everything bagel seasoning.
Opened at the turn of the century—2000, that is!—WheatField’s Eatery & Bakery is a family-owned and –managed restaurant and bakery serving simple, elegant foods with a hint of European flair. Their avocado toast offering features two slices of griddled wild wheat bread topped with melted jack cheese, a fresh avocado spread, diced tomatoes, arugula, a sunny-side-up egg and salsa!
An Omaha destination for juice, healthy bites and CBD, The Grove Juicery and Wellness Café is one of our favorite spots in town for smoothie bowls and avocado toast! Their avocado toast features pesto as well as fresh avocado and pairs perfectly with a CBD sparkling water or one of their healthy lattes. Located in Gifford Park, this adorable cafe owned by four coffee-loving locals calls itself home to some of the tastiest (and prettiest!) lattes and pastries in town. Their bright and open cafe is packed full of comfy furniture, large windows, plants and other décor. Currently, they are offering curbside pickup, where you can grab all their coffee drinks, tea, pastries, Ted & Wally’s ice cream and their famous avocado toast, which is toasted and topped with organic grass-fed butter and avocado spread.
Opened in December of 2019, this vibrant Benson spot is the perfect mix of an all-day diner and an Instagram-famous spot. Inside, you’ll find brightly colored murals, neon signs and a few vintage-style details. As for food offerings, they offer the perfect mix of breakfast, brunch and small plates.
