Perhaps one of the most unique features of the office is the multi-purpose area known as “The Park.” Designed to resemble the outdoors, it includes green carpet and a high ceiling painted blue with a tree-like canopy overhead. It serves as a large meeting room, break area and technology center. Internet hard-wired work stations dot the general areas of the office, and agents also have wireless access to power their individual computers. Two powerful color printer/copier machines are accessible wirelessly as well. The facilities set the tone for what Realtors discover is a culture of positive support. “We focus on continued professional training and sharpening of skills,” Van Houten said. That includes extensive basic skill training as well as detailed instruction to maximize the use of the Multiple Listing Service computer system. Agents are also able to improve their skills at the weekly “Real Estate Essentials Group.” It brings new and seasoned agents together to improve skills.
