When I made the choice to move over to NP Dodge it was because they had so much to offer. Not only do I feel like I got a great Broker and Managing Broker, I also feel like I got a family. NP Dodge is great at providing training classes and education in almost any area that you need or want. If I ever have any issues from technical to contractual you can bet I will get an answer. I started my real estate career with NP Dodge, I was recruited to join another brokerage and decided to switch. After less than a year I knew the other brokerage was not the company for me. I have been with NP Dodge Real Estate in Council Bluffs, IA since 2008 when I first came into the real estate profession. Our office is more of a “family setting”. I transferred to our Lincoln office 7+ years ago. I had been with a large corporate broker for 10 years and became unhappy with the micromanagement and primary focus on the company's profitability. I was looking for a smaller locally owned broker with a kinder culture and an agent centric philosophy. I wanted to serve my clients and community, not the profitability of management in a faraway city. In the 7+ years that I've been working with our Lincoln office, I have always felt respected, valued, supported, and heard. The staff fully prioritizes helping us, the agents on the front line, in every way they possibly can. This has been a different experience. I have been allowed to conduct my business according to my own values. It's been a lucrative career, but more importantly, it's been very personally rewarding.

I'm so glad to be able to say I began my real estate career at our Lincoln office. From the first day that I met with the managing broker up to present day, I have felt that this was the best brokerage in Lincoln for new agents. The leadership team fosters growth in new agents through the mentor program, excellent trainings, and reimbursement for start-up expenses. The support staff are very helpful and creative. Having worked in the insurance field for 35 years in the marketing field and retired, it provided me an opportunity to move into sales i.e. Real Estat 1995. Our Lincoln office was my second and only other Company I associated with in Sales. Earning the GRI and CRS designations early in my career was a goal I wanted to learn more about this new career I was entering. When our Lincoln office established their office here in Lincoln I was contacted to consider this new company to work for. Meeting Pat Elgert in my initial interview was what moved me to associate with him and our Lincoln office. Pat is one that is honest and the type of person I wanted to associate with. His style and hiring practice in selecting individuals as Sales Associates and Staff that supports the field is to be commended My time at our Lincoln office and working with these folks has proven that they are the finest. As I end my working career in sales and reflect on this company and the people that are associated with, I am blessed! I want to wish all here much success and good health.

In 2014, I made a wonderful business decision when I joined our Lincoln office. The grassroots, agent/client-centered focus, and the supportive staff and brokers were a driving force in my decision. In 2017 as was looking for a way to transition away from a 35-year career as a restaurant entrepreneur. What I loved about the restaurant business was that no two days ever looked the same and I got to support individuals to become their best self and deliver outstanding rewarding results to our customers and communities. But after 35 years I was looking for a different way to help people realize a dream. I was fortunate to be recommended to contact Lea at our Lincoln office. From the very first phone conversation she helped me believe that I could be successful as a Real Estate Agent. I got to meet the leadership team and many other agents as I learned about the possibilities of a career in Real Estate. I learned early on that what was special about our Lincoln office, was that we are people focused, agent lead and truly interested in what’s best for our community. I obtained my Real Estate License in September of 2016. I interviewed a handful of brokerages, none of which gave me the warm fuzzies. I talked to one of the brokers at our Lincoln offices several times and then agreed to meet for lunch. I knew it was a match and signed on the following week. I came into the business very green. My only experience was purchasing my own home 23 years ago, so I needed a lot of grooming. (Still do…) The atmosphere at our Lincoln office is much like family. We don’t see each other all the time, but when in need, we are always there to help a fellow agent. I have made some dear friends within this brokerage. Our Lincoln office has agents with over 20 years’ experience, valuable experience, that I have learned from, there are many tricks of the trade and many do’s & don’ts. I have learned communication skills that I did not know I could pull off. I have learned life lessons to use in my business and personal life. The administrative support structure is exactly what I need for the type of agent I choose to be. I like to focus on my client’s needs first and foremost, without having to worry about creating my own marketing, auditing my own paperwork, and keeping up with the latest rules, regulations and technology. I live by this principle: “Place, plan, provision.” Prior to obtaining my real estate license, I spent time reflecting on what qualities and attributes my brokerage firm of choice needed to meet or exceed. 148Dodge is a great office! It feels like family here. We have been with NP Dodge for over 21 years and our office has a good mix of new agents, experienced agents, teams and couples. The decision for me to leave my previous company wasn't easy for I was entrenched for 35 years so I wasn't use to change, when the news of a merger was eminent I decided to look around at other companies.
