7 Co-Working Spaces to Join in the Omaha Area

There’s no denying the many benefits of working from home, whether you’re a remote employee or an entrepreneur. But there comes a time when the cluttered dining room table or the converted basement office just isn’t cutting it anymore. Not to mention, remote work can become isolating, as the only “coworkers” we have are our cats, dogs, roommates and spouses.

Enter: co-working! Co-working spaces provide the ideal conditions for a productive workday, from the human connection and networking we all crave to all the important amenities, like high-speed Internet, comfortable desks, and of course, coffee. Not to mention, co-working enables you to get dressed, get out of the house, and better separate your work and home life.

There are so many excellent co-working spaces and unique office setups in Omaha, whether you’re an individual who works remotely for a company or you’re the owner of a small business with several employees. Each space provides flexible options for the type of membership you need, from communal desks to dedicated desks, and even private offices of all sizes.

Check out these thriving co-working communities in Omaha, some of which are already up and running and a couple coming soon!

Commerce Village

Conveniently located in downtown Omaha just south of the Old Market, Commerce Village is a co-working community with flexible office space, meeting rooms, and work spaces for freelancers, remote workers and small businesses. The community is designed to make day-to-day business operations as stress-free as possible, so you can instead focus on innovation, networking and growth for your business. In addition to providing workspace, Commerce Village offers a number of amenities, including speedy WiFi, parking, bike storage, a multifunctional printer, an onsite notary, mail and package handling service, networking and social events, a community kitchen with local coffee and tea, and even a fitness center.

Membership options range from the desk and office day pass for drop-ins to their small, medium and large office suites, perfect for a small team. A dedicated workspace in a shared office gives you your own desk, office chair and locked filing cabinet, and 24/7 access to the building and all its amenities.

Established in Brussels in 1989, Regus is a global company with a goal of providing flexible office space all around the world — including right here in Omaha. The city has three different Regus locations: in Landmark Center, Aksarben Village + First National Bank Business Park. Landmark Center in downtown is focused on providing private office spaces and meeting rooms, while the other two have co-working desks available as well. The unique thing about Regus is you can access any of their thousands of locations as a member, which works especially well for professionals who travel often for work. You’ll simply book what’s called a “hot desk” (or a rotating desk not belonging to any particular person) on their app, no matter what city you’re in!
