Benson<\/span><\/a> is one of our favorite neighborhoods in Omaha. The area surrounding Maple Street boasts a vibrant culture that is tough to come by \u2014 which makes it an attractive place for foodies, musicians, artists and more. Most of the businesses here have made their homes in old theaters and dealerships, revamping the neighborhood, mixing the old with the new, and creating a vibe that is unparalleled to nearby communities. In fact, this historical community is the most \u201chipster\u201d neighborhood in the state, according to <\/span>BuzzFeed<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Benson is an incredible place to spend an entire day (<\/span>and to call home<\/span><\/a>!), so we created a schedule to help guide you through the best entertainment and dining options, from coffee to cocktails. Enjoy! <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

8 am: <\/b>Morning Coffee at Aromas Coffeehouse <\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

We don\u2019t know about you, but we can\u2019t do anything without having our morning coffee first. Luckily, Benson has the perfect spot to fuel up. <\/span>Aromas Coffeehouse pours coffee worth savoring<\/span><\/a>, which is why we\u2019ve knocked out an hour just to spend here. The husband-and-wife team behind this neighborhood hangout poured their love and passion into the shop, and it shows. Each beverage is carefully crafted for maximum flavor and enjoyment (and made from their own roasted beans), and the accompanying pastries from Bliss Bakery are a little slice of heaven. <\/span><\/p>\n

9:30 am:<\/b> Find Your Zen\u00a0at Yoga Now<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

Yoga Now (formerly the Omaha Yoga & Bodywork Center), was founded by Omaha local Susan Gillespie Amendola back in 1983, making it the first established yoga studio in town. The teachers here are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, so whether you\u2019re a beginner or a seasoned yogi, you\u2019re sure to find a class that fits into your stride. After class is done, you will leave feeling invigorated, refreshed and ready to explore the rest of the neighborhood. <\/span><\/p>\n

11 am: <\/b>Lunch at Star Deli<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

You must be hungry after working up a sweat! Go ahead and grab an early lunch at Star Deli. This casual sandwich shop doubles as a gallery space, so you can\u00a0explore your artsy side while you dig into your lunch. The sandwiches, crafted in house with freshly carved meats, fresh produce and artisanal cheeses, never fail to please. <\/span><\/p>\n

12 pm: Stop into A Cute Shop (Or Two) <\/b><\/h3>\n

The Benson neighborhood is dotted with boutiques and other charming shops, each boasting a different style. If one catches your fancy while you\u2019re meandering on Maple Street, go ahead and stop in! 2 pm: <\/b>Visit the Omaha Bicycle Company<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

The knowledgeable staff at the Omaha Bicycle Company know everything there is to know about bikes, and will happily repair yours if need be. But you can also buy supplies here, including frames, components and accessories. The friendly hotspot is a favorite among cyclists \u2014 as well as coffee aficionados. That\u2019s right, the shop doubles as a <\/span>specialty coffee and espresso bar<\/span><\/a>, so it’s a great place to hang out in the afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 pm:<\/b> Pre-Dinner Libations at the Benson Brewery <\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

Housed in an old 1910 movie theater, Benson Brewery is one of our favorite places to grab a brew in the Omaha area \u2014 and for a good reason. This cozy neighborhood spot specializes in good food and good company, but above all, good beer. Grab your\u00a0beverage of choice to enjoy on the patio or under the hanging lights inside. Just don\u2019t fill up too much on the artisanal bar bites \u2014 dinner is next on our list! <\/span><\/p>\n

6 pm:<\/b> Dinner at Lot 2 <\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

We can\u2019t decide what we love best about this farm-to-table restaurant. On one hand, the decor, complete with wood floors and rustic finishes, makes us swoon the minute we step inside\u00a0\u2014 but then we taste the food. Expect locally sourced, seasonal and hearty fare that will warm the soul. <\/span><\/p>\n

8 pm:<\/b> Catch a Show at the Waiting Room <\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

The Waiting Room began its life as a car dealership back in the 20s, but this building in the heart of Benson has since transformed into a legendary music venue, hosting local and national acts almost every night of the week. Regardless of your taste in music, a night at the Waiting Room is bound to be a night to remember. <\/span><\/p>\n

10 pm:<\/b> Sip a Nightcap at Krug Park <\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

This swanky hotspot is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, and has made <\/span>Draft Magazine<\/span><\/i>\u2019s list of the \u201c<\/span>100 Best Beer Bars in America<\/span><\/a>\u201d four years running. We highly recommend the Krug Park Old Fashioned or one of the dozen Bloody Mary variations. However, if cocktails aren\u2019t your style, try a sample from more than 50 craft beers on tap. <\/span><\/p>\n

11 pm:<\/b> Grab Late Night Bites at 1912 Benson<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n
