Check out some of the free concerts happening in and around Omaha this summer \u2014\u00a0some putting on one big show, and several occurring on a weekly basis. This is a fun (and cost-effective!) way to enjoy those warm summer nights and take in the sweet sounds of talented local musicians.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

La Vista Concerts and Movies<\/b><\/h3>\n

Friday, June 24, July 15 & August 12<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve found the perfect summer activity the whole family will enjoy! Take the kids to any of the three <\/span>La Vista Concerts and Movies<\/span><\/a> series happening outside the La Vista Public Library. On June 24, hear live music from <\/span>Blue House<\/span><\/a>, followed by a showing of \u201cMinions\u201d. <\/span>Charm School Dropouts<\/span><\/a> will play on July 15, followed by \u201cThe Good Dinosaur\u201d movie. And on August 12, <\/span>Grease Band<\/span><\/a> will play before a showing of \u201cPan\u201d. Each night, <\/span>Mama\u2019s Pizza<\/span><\/a> will be there providing pizza for purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bank of the West Celebrates America<\/b><\/h3>\n

Friday, July 1<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Kick off the weekend before Fourth of July with a bang at <\/span>Bank of the West Celebrates America<\/span><\/a>, featuring a free concert and a fireworks show after the performance! Hear from headliner <\/span>Kenny Loggins<\/span><\/a>, in addition to the Lincoln-based <\/span>Dylan Bloom Band<\/span><\/a> and an Omaha-based band called <\/span>Finest Hour<\/span><\/a>. This free community event at Memorial Park is the perfect way to celebrate our country\u2019s freedom and the amazing local talent we have in our backyard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Playing With Fire at Midtown Crossing<\/b><\/h3>\n

Saturday, July 2 & Saturday, August 27 at 4:30 p.m.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Head to Turner Park at Midtown Crossing on either July 2 or August 27 \u2014\u00a0or both days! \u2014\u00a0for a fun night of blues, rock, funk, R&B, and soul music at <\/span>Playing With Fire<\/span><\/a>. Hear from headliner <\/span>Sugaray Rayford<\/span><\/a> on July 2 and the <\/span>Walter Trout Band<\/span><\/a> as they headline the August 27 show. Get there when the area opens at 3:30 p.m. to make sure you get a good seat!<\/span><\/p>\n
