We hope you\u2019re wearing your green! St. Patrick\u2019s Day is upon us once again, bringing a day of camaraderie, Irish celebrations, dancing, and corned beef. We love embracing our city\u2019s St. Patty\u2019s Day traditions, so we rounded up the best events in Omaha!<\/p>\n

Lucky for you, you\u2019ll be able to celebrate all week. The festivities kick off on March 10 with the highly anticipated St. Patrick\u2019s Day parade through Old Market, and conclude with a day full of green beer, concerts and fun on March 17. Have fun out there!<\/p>\n

St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade <\/a><\/h3>\n

When: Saturday, March 10, 10 am
\n<\/em>Where: Old Market
\n<\/a><\/em>Price: Free<\/em><\/p>\n

The most anticipated St. Patrick\u2019s Day event in Omaha actually takes place a week before March 17! The AOH Father Flanagan Division hosts the event in the streets of downtown, so wear your green (costumes are encouraged) and join in the fun from the sidelines. You can also watch from one of the designated viewing spots at the Old Chicago and O\u2019Connor\u2019s Irish Pub.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Post Parade Party<\/h3>\n

When: Saturday, March 10, 11 am-4 pm
\n<\/em>Where: The Matt Bar & Grill
\n<\/a><\/em>Price: $5 for adults over 21, free for all under $21 <\/em><\/p>\n

If you didn\u2019t get enough celebrating in at the parade itself, you can always catch up at the after party. The party will take place at the Old Mattress Factory directly following the parade, and will include live Irish music from Conor Dowling, Dowd\u2019s Irish Dancers and Bradley\u2019s Bastards. We\u2019re particularly looking forward to the homemade corned beef sliders!<\/p>\n

Riverdance <\/a><\/h3>\n

When: Wednesday and Thursday, March 14-15, 7 pm
\n<\/em>Where: The Orpheum Theater
\n<\/a><\/em>Price: Starting at $41<\/em><\/p>\n

You\u2019ve heard people rave about Riverdance \u2014 the \u00a0international Irish Dance sensation has been a hit for years. Now, you\u2019ll have the chance to catch the show on the 20th Anniversary World Tour at the Orpheum Theater. This tour will feature new costumes, new lighting, new projections and a new number, but the same Irish spirit that made the act famous.<\/p>\n

The Killigans St. Patrick\u2019s Day Kick Off<\/a><\/h3>\n

When: Saturday, March 16,\u00a08 pm
\nWhere: Maloney\u2019s Irish Pub<\/a>

Who says you have to wait until Saturday to celebrate? Come on down to Maloney\u2019s Irish Pub on the eve of St. Patty\u2019s Day for a festive Irish concert! The Killigans, a punk-rock band based in Lincoln, will perform in a heated tent for your enjoyment. After the concert is over, get some rest and prepare yourself for some early-morning green pancakes at the same venue.<\/p>\n

The General John O’ Neill Wreath Laying Ceremony\u00a0<\/a><\/h3>\n

When: Saturday, March 17, 9:30 am\u00a0<\/em>
\nWhere: The Holy Sepulchre\u00a0Cemetery\u00a0<\/a><\/em>
\nPrice: Free\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Come pay respects to General John O’ Neill, a prominent member of the local Irish community who loved Nebraska until his dying day. The AOH hosts a wreath-laying event at his grave at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery each year, complete with an Irish choir performance, a memorial and the singing of the Irish National Anthem.<\/p>\n

St. Patrick\u2019s Day Luncheon at the Lauritzen Gardens <\/a><\/h3>\n

When: Saturday, March 17, 10 am-2 pm
\n<\/em>Where: Lauritzen Gardens
\n<\/a><\/em>Price: $5 for children, $10 for adults<\/em><\/p>\n

What better place to celebrate St. Patrick\u2019s Day than the greenest place in Omaha? Come join the Lauritzen Gardens for a traditional Irish lunch<\/a>, including corned beef and cabbage, boiled potatoes, and Irish soda bread. After eating, you\u2019ll be able to enjoy live entertainment and wander the gardens at your leisure. Reservations are required! Make yours by calling Merri at 402-346-4002.<\/p>\n

St. Patrick\u2019s Day at O\u2019Connor\u2019s Irish Pub<\/h3>\n

Where better to celebrate St. Patrick\u2019s Day than at our area\u2019s favorite Irish bar? O\u2019Connor\u2019s Pub will be joining in the festivities during the parade on March 10, but make sure to come back on the day itself. The bar will be opening early for a grand celebration!<\/p>\n

The St. Patty\u2019s Day Celebration at Maloney\u2019s Irish Pub <\/a><\/h3>\n

Celebrate St. Patrick\u2019s Day with Maloney\u2019s Irish Pub! The bar will open at 6 am, and green pancakes will be served at 7 am. Beef and cabbage will also be available starting at 11 am, and live entertainment starts at noon! Dance along to the music from Stephen Monroe, Omaha Pipes and Drums and Connor Dowling.<\/p>\n

St. Patty\u2019s Day at the Dubliner Pub <\/a><\/h3>\n

If you can\u2019t get to Dublin to celebrate St. Patrick\u2019s Day, this little Old Market pub is the second best thing. The underground space feels just like Ireland, and features nearly 100 different beers from all over the world. On St. Patty\u2019s Day, the bar will open at 6 am, and features live music (including Connor Dowling and Dicey Riley) throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Shamrocked, Featuring String Theory<\/a><\/h3>\n

Bar 415 is already one of our favorite destinations for a fun night out in Omaha, but on St. Patrick\u2019s Day, the bar will light up with live music from String Theory! The electrifying duo is known for their experimental, heavy hitting, electronic music, including bass and dubstep \u2014 and their stage performance is always a sight worth seeing.<\/p>\n
