Plus, commercial real estate is quite a bit more affordable here than in, say, New York City. Need more proof? Basketball, football, baseball, soccer, hockey, golf<\/a>,\u00a0curling<\/a> \u2014 we love it all. We are home to excellent stadiums such as the Baxter Arena<\/a>\u00a0 as well as two fantastic universities (Creighton<\/a> and University of Nebraska Omaha<\/a>). You can expect to see the big game onscreen at all of Omaha\u2019s best sports bars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll never be bored.<\/h2>\n

Omaha is known as the \u201cGateway to the West.\u201d<\/h2>\n

The city of Omaha was founded in 1854 by speculators from neighboring Council Bluffs. And as pioneers had to cross the Missouri River to reach it, it quickly became known as the Gateway to the West. It further established this title when it hosted the World\u2019s Fair in 1898, dubbed the Trans-Mississippi Exposition.<\/p>\n
