One of Omaha\u2019s most popular annual events, Omaha Fashion Week<\/a>, will return February 23-29 for its 13th year, bringing local, regional and national designers to showcase their latest looks on the runway. Over the years, Omaha Fashion Week has become the fifth largest fashion event in the country. But even more than that, it has served as an outlet for the community to come together, learn, and celebrate some of the city\u2019s best fashion talent.<\/p>\n

Though it is a glamorous red carpet event, Omaha Fashion Week also nurtures the youngest of fashion designers by providing mentoring opportunities and a professional platform to showcase their work. The event connects these budding designers with national artists, photographers and models recognized across the globe.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019re interested in attending this iconic event\u2014check out our guide! We\u2019ve rounded up our most anticipated OFW events along with the bios of some Omaha locals who will be featured throughout the week. Getting married sometime soon? Or do you know someone who is? Head to The Aisle Premier Bridal Salon and Fashion Showcase\u2014the first event of Omaha Fashion Week\u2014and take in some of the best runway bridal looks in the Midwest. Grab a glass of champagne, walk the red carpet, and enjoy the curated collection of wedding professionals who specialize in bringing wedding daydreams to life.<\/p>\n

Metropolitan Community College Student Night<\/a><\/h3>\n

This show will feature collections by our area\u2019s youngest up-and-coming designers \u2014 students at Omaha Central High School, Omaha South High School, Nebraska 4-H, the Kent Bellows Mentoring Program at the Joslyn Art Museum, and Nebraska FCCLA. There will also be a Q&A panel discussion for students interested in a career in a creative industry such as fashion, photography or design. If you\u2019re a student, bring all of your questions for the industry experts, and get ready to be inspired!<\/p>\n

At this fun event, more than 30 fashion design students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will show more than 100 original looks! The event will be staffed completely by student volunteers who will run the backstage and front of house under direction from the OFW team.<\/p>\n

Methodist Survivor Show<\/a><\/h3>\n

Thursday, February 27, 6-10 p.m.<\/em><\/p>\n

Tickets<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Cancer survivors will take on the runway on February 27, strutting their stuff in powerful looks that reflect their strength and perseverance. Each look will be donated to the survivors by local boutiques, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the inner Beauty Salon at the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Arise Emerging Designer Showcase<\/a><\/h3>\n

Whether this is their first show or they are rebranding themselves, 11 emerging designers will showcase a collection to prove that they are ready to take on the wild world of fashion. Evolve Featured Designer Showcase<\/a><\/h3>\n

The grand finale of OFW will take place on Saturday! Come see original collections from eight featured designers, all of whom are pushing the boundaries of fashion with their inventive shapes, textures and color combinations. Must-See Local Designers<\/h2>\n

Anisha Fashionista<\/a><\/h3>\n

A Nebraska native, 2020 OFW featured designer Anisha Fashionista has been a well-known local designer for several years. In fact, she even designed an iconic wrap top for Amanda Kreft, the Vice President of Omaha\u2019s Fashion Institute Guild<\/a>, for FIG\u2019s Fashion Impact Awards in Omaha in 2017. We love looking at her past collections, most of which feature bright colors, floral patterns and twists on traditional styles.<\/p>\n
