The weather is changing, the days are\u00a0shortening,\u00a0and school is back on the calendar. Summer is almost over and while we’re looking forward to fall, we wish the season didn’t have to end so soon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Luckily, now that events are happening once again,\u00a0Omahans\u00a0are putting together festivals to\u00a0allow us to\u00a0celebrate everything we missed over the past\u00a017 months. From concerts to food festivals, to art shows and performances,\u00a0there is no shortage of exciting events to\u00a0help\u00a0say goodbye to summer 2021 in style.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Below,\u00a0we’ve rounded up a few of our most-anticipated\u00a0end-of-summer events,\u00a0beginning on August 5<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0all the way up to the last day of summer on September 22<\/span>nd<\/span>.\u00a0Have fun!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Omaha Fringe was created based on the long tradition of fringe festivals around the world. These interesting events are often unique experiences where performers put on small, self-produced and self-funded shows\u2014and The Omaha Fringe Festival will be no different! This year, you can expect 36 performances from 12 companies at two venues around Omaha: The UNO Theater and the Big Canvas Theatre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Omaha Under the Radar is a contemporary performance and arts presenter in Omaha\u00a0that organizes experimental performance events and educational workshops. This annual street festival in\u00a0downtown Benson works to highlight performance and visual arts from Omaha\u2019s refugee and immigrant communities.\u00a0This year,\u00a0you can expect\u00a0a hybrid of gallery-operated, in-person exhibits, featured artisans at local retailers, food trucks,\u00a0satellite on-street stages,\u00a0as well as virtual performances. In the Market for Blues is the largest blues festival this side of Chicago! In 2021, the popular event will feature several venues around\u00a0<\/span>Old Market<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Downtown<\/span><\/a>, with one large outdoor venue in the Mammel Courtyard.\u00a0Their official lineup features\u00a0<\/span>Ana Popovic<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>The Hector Anchondo Band<\/span><\/a>\u00a0as headliners, as well as a slew of other fantastic musicians all day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Celebrate the creative use of natural fibers and textiles at the 2021 Fiber Arts Festival! All weekend long,\u00a0shop\u00a0the Vendor’s Market for goods from local makers and creators. There will also be artist demonstrations from\u00a0Jim\u00a0Schalles of\u00a0<\/span>Tallgrass Hearth and Home<\/span><\/a>\u00a0as well as mini workshops the week after.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Nebraska Balloon and Wine Festival will meet for two days of unique summer fun at\u00a0Ta-Ha-Zouka\u00a0Park to\u00a0celebrate wine,\u00a0balloons, and community for the first time since 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This year, the\u00a0<\/span>Dundee<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Merchants Association and the Dundee Memorial Park Association will be hosting their 29th annual\u00a0Dundee Day street\u00a0festival. This special event coming to Falconwood Park in\u00a0<\/span>Bellevue<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will feature live music, Bohemian shopping, a vintage hippie car show, DIY tie-dye, a giant bubble garden, cirque performers, kids\u2019 activities, drum circles, delicious food, a tipsy-hippie cocktail bar, beer, dancing, and more.
