Jody is a third generation Realtor and began her real estate career in Omaha in 1997. She followed the path of both her mother and grandfather – and while she never had the opportunity to work with either of them, she believes there is a genetic factor in her passion for this business.
Working in the management capacity fulfills Jody’s desire to help other people grow and develop their skillsets. She has an optimistic attitude and is always willing to go the extra step – both with clients and with other agents. She has successfully mentored new agents over the years and is grateful to now call those Realtors friends.
Her belief that being effective in real estate has a great deal to do with cooperation, communication, and having some fun – are evidenced in her long-standing mutually respectful relationships with both veteran and new Realtors in our community.
While earning her BS in Human Resource Management, Jody worked at Omaha’s M’s Pub bartending and serving. Her hospitality background is key in her success as a Realtor and mentor. She met her husband while working in the Old Market and they have one daughter who attends Marian High School, where Jody also volunteers. She is a member of the Omaha Area Board of Realtors Social Committee, a volunteer with TeamMates Mentoring Program and survived being a Girl Scout Leader.
Jody has many interests: inspiring conversation, interior design, relaxing with a good read, painting. She loves spending time with her family cooking, playing backyard games, or going on adventures – swimming with dolphins and stingrays off the coast of Cozumel, four-wheeling and ziplining through the mountains, and climbing every step to the top of the Washington Monument.
Testimonial from agent, Justin Norton:
I started my real estate career in March of 2019 and was blessed to have Jody as my mentor. She was not just an educator there to teach me how to write up a purchase agreement; she was a motivator who kept encouraging me even when it felt like real estate wasn’t going to pan out.
Jody is always available when I need her assistance with a question, negotiation, or to talk me off the ledge when transactions get complicated. No matter how annoying and pesky I may be, she takes more than enough time to make sure I fully understand the situation. When I started this endeavor, I gained a mentor AND a friend!
