Loveland

Unique, well-maintained homes of many styles and ages are found in the Loveland community. Located between Pacific and Center Street from 78 th Street to 84 th Street, the neighborhood has large, two-story brick homes, tudors, and colonials as well as ranches and modern multi-levels situated on estate sized lots. Mature landscaping with lovely trees is found throughout the entire community, resulting in a sense of privacy and pride. This beautiful setting is a year-round invitation for people to walk through their neighborhood and enjoy the peace and relaxation not often found in many urban settings. Many of these strolls end at Loveland School, which provides benches and playground equipment for kids, parents, and grandparents to enjoy. With its natural habitat site and other gardens, which are maintained by the Loveland Homeowners Association, it is described by many as the community’s anchor. Noted for its excellence, the school is part of the Westside District and is the reason that many families purchase homes in this community. The Westside Middle School and the Westside High School campuses are close to the neighborhood, allowing many students to walk to them. The Loveland Homeowners Association works closely with the staff and parent’s group at Loveland School. They assist with exterior maintenance projects and social and educational activities for the students. The Association also sponsors a Neighborhood Watch program, publishes a community directory and newsletter, participates in the Omaha Neighborhood Night Out, and the Omaha Spring Clean-Up programs. The Association Board meets monthly, and often invites representatives from various city departments to speak on current city issues. While there are no retail facilities in the community, several grocery stores and shopping centers (Countryside Village and Aksarben Village) are a short distance away. Churches and several private/parochial schools are also found in nearby neighborhoods.
