March not only signifies the end of winter and the beginning of spring, but it’s also a great time to get out and explore Omaha! Check out the Omaha Home and Garden Expo at the beginning of the month to get a head start on some home improvement projects or enjoy the Luck of the Irish Bar Crawl to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

OMA ARTalks | Winter + Spring 2025

On Saturday, March 1st — head over to Omaha’s Bemis Center for one of the OMA ARTalks for the winter and spring 2025 season. The talk is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and admission is free. Ticket reservations are encouraged. Attendees can explore the current collections at the center from the perspective of Omaha-based artists, creatives, and community leaders. There will be speakers available to discuss how specific works of art in each exhibition have deeply resonated with them. The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts is an artist-centric nonprofit that values creativity, trust, courage, diversity, and acceptance.

Omaha Home and Garden Expo

Where? 455 North 10th Street
When? Through March 2nd

The Omaha Home and Garden Expo is making its return! As spring is just around the corner, many homeowners are considering home projects that they want to work on as the weather warms up. Attendees can explore over 100,000 square feet of the latest products, services, and innovations for their home, garden, and outdoor living — including waterfalls, ponds, blooming plants, and more. The expo runs from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 1st, and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 2nd. Adult admission is priced at $9 and children ages 5 to 12 get in for $4.50. Kids under 5 are free! Tickets will be sold at the box office in the show lobby. The expo is held at the CHI Health Center and general parking can be accessed at several lots and garages near the venue.

First Thursday Downtown Art Walk

Where? Downtown Omaha
When? March 6th

On the first Thursday of every month, Omahans and visitors alike get together to celebrate the vibrant art scene that helps to define the city. This month, the first Thursday falls on the 6th — so head downtown from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and explore the Old Market. This is a free event, so invite your friends and family and check out the participating galleries including the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, KANEKO, Passageway Gallery, and more. Attendees can peruse a curated selection of galleries, with each one offering a unique glimpse into the imagination of both local and regional artists. Whether you’re intrigued by contemporary pieces or avant-garde installations, you’re sure to find something on First Thursdays that captivates you.

70th Annual O’Reilly World of Wheels

Where? 455 North 10th Street
When? March 7th-9th

The 70th Annual O’Reilly World of Wheels is coming to the CHI Health Center this March! The O’Reilly World of Wheels is the country’s premier custom show car series. Attendees will enjoy three days of hot rods, customs, trucks, and much more. Exciting displays and celebrity guests will include the Megamorph transforming robot car, an Evel Knievel tribute, and a celebrity showcase by Catherine Bach, who played Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard. Hours for the show are scheduled for 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. General admission is priced at $22, plus a $2 facility fee. Children ages 6 to 12 receive a discounted admission rate of $8, plus a $1 facility fee, and children 5 and under are free!

GoatFest 2025

Where? 3922 Farnam Street
When? March 8th

Scriptown Brewing Company is excited to host GoatFest 2025. Get ready to rock out with your Bock out and celebrate spring with the seasonal debut of Goatsmack. This is an all-ages event and there will be live music at 3:00 PM by Velvet Velvet and Cowgirl Eastern. There will also be food available for purchase through Lazy Buffalo BBQ. There will be a live goat on the premises and of course, lots of beer. Scriptown is known for its traditional beer styles, all handcrafted locally. Brews on tap include the Dos Amigos Mexican Lager, the Saddle Creek Wheat, the Ups & Down Coffee, and the Crusher Barley Wine.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Where? 15th & Harney
When? March 8th

2025 marks Omaha’s 147th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade! The parade is hosted by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The registration deadline for the event is March 1st at 11:59 PM, so submit yours while there’s still time! The opening ceremony is scheduled for 10:45 AM on the 8th and the parade kicks off at 11:00 AM in the Old Market. This year’s official Parade Starter is McCarthy’s One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, a longtime sponsor and supporter of the annual parade. The 2025 Grand Marshal is Mary Barrett. The parade route begins at 15th and Harney, goes down to 11th Street, and then turns onto Howard before marching to 14th and Howard. There will be various group staging areas and several parking lots in the vicinity for attendees.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl in Concert

When? March 8th & 9th

Are you ready for a swashbuckling adventure with Captain Jack Sparrow and his motley crew of pirates? Well, then you won’t want to miss this unique performance at the Omaha Symphony. Watch Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl while the symphony performs Klaus Badelt & Hans Zimmer’s score live-to-picture. The concert will be held at the Holland Center on March 8th and 9th at 7:30 PM and 2:00 PM, respectively. Tickets are on sale now beginning at $45 and rising to $93. Event parking is available in the Omaha Park Eight garage beginning two hours prior to evening performances. Attendees can pre-pay to reserve $3 event parking with the ParkMobile app and meters run 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday.

20th Annual Omaha Film Festival

When? March 11th-16th

The 20th Annual Omaha Film Festival will take place over the course of six days. The festival gives independent film artists a platform to share their work and create a dialogue within the community, while also promoting the discussion and study of filmmaking. The Omaha Film Festival includes a film competition and a screenplay competition, with time provided after each screening for filmmakers to participate in a Q&A session. Tickets and festival passes are on sale now, with options ranging from all access, to all films and weekend passes or individual tickets. The film guide makes it easier than ever to peruse the screening schedule and choose which films you’re interested in viewing. This year’s lineup includes Emergent City, No Place Like Nebraska, The Ballad of a Hustler, For the Living, and The Pantone Guy. There are various shorts, narrative features, documentary features, and more. All film screenings will be held at the Aksarben Cinema, as will the Writers Theatre.

Omaha Luck of the Irish Bar Crawl

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Luck of the Irish Bar Crawl on March 14th! The event kicks off at Billy Frogg’s Grill & Bar, with check-in scheduled from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Attendees can dive into the vibrant and boisterous spirit of St. Patrick’s Day for one of the best nights of the year. Whether you’re attending solo or with a group of friends, the Luck of the Irish Bar Crawl promises to be an unforgettable one. Wear your greenest attire and sip on holiday-themed drink specials and make sure to hit up the free after-party. Tickets are priced at $24.99 and include free entry at all bars, food specials, and exclusive drinks. Participants must be 21 and up with a valid ID.

PRCA Championship Rodeo

Get ready to watch history at the prestigious Mid-America Center in nearby Council Bluffs, Iowa. The stage will be set at the PRCA Championship Rodeo as all of the elements of entertainment and innovation come together to create exhilarating moments. Dust off your cowboy boots and hat as you watch the 7 rodeo events that include bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and of course — bull riding! March 21st kicks off the fun from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, with general admission tickets starting at $25.

Omaha Performing Arts is excited to welcome Omaha area families to watch PAW Patrol Live! “A Mighty Adventure” is taking over the Orpheum Theatre. The all-new stage show picks up where The Mighty Movie left off, promising audiences a high-stakes adventure for fans of all ages. Watch as the pups take charge like never before and work together to super-save the day. The show is complete with heroic action, catchy tunes, and “bark-loads” of interactive fun to keep attendees engaged. Disney On Ice: Magic in the Stars

Disney On Ice is coming to Omaha’s CHI Health Center this March. Audiences are invited to journey through the timeless stories that everyone knows and loves, including Cinderella, Aladdin, and Toy Story — as well as a few modern favorites like Encanto, Frozen 2, and Moana. The stories are brought to life in new ways and every story starts with a wish. Little ones will love creating enchanting memories with Moana, Rapunzel, and more of their favorite Disney princesses and friends. All guests ages 2 and older are required to have a ticket. Tickets are on sale for as low as $22.

Kid Rock & Chris Janson: 2025 Spring Arena Tour

Where? 455 North 10th Street
When? March 21st

Kid Rock is coming to Omaha’s CHI Health Center with special guest Chris Janson. Kid Rock’s Spring Arena Tour begins in Omaha before heading to Minneapolis, Louisville, Milwaukee, Nashville, Wichita, Arlington, and more. The American musician is known for his unique blend of rap, heavy metal, and country rock. The singer is known for hit songs like “All Summer Long, “Cowboy,” and “Redneck Paradise.” The show is scheduled for 7:30 PM on March 21st and the center has a clear bag policy in effect, meaning attendees may carry one opaque clutch-sized purse or wallet or a clear, uncolored plastic bag. Other prohibited items at the center include weapons, cameras with detachable lenses measuring 3.5 inches or longer, and outside food and beverages.
