This year marks 170 years of NP Dodge, America’s oldest, family-owned real estate company. It’s a milestone that fills us with pride as we look back on generations of service to Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln and the greater community. But instead of only looking back, we’ve chosen to celebrate this anniversary by making a meaningful difference today.
On Friday, September 5, 2025, NP Dodge will partner with FNBO and Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) to build 170 beds for local children who currently sleep on floors, couches, air mattresses, or in overcrowded spaces. This will be the largest bed-building event ever held in Nebraska, a one-day effort that will change lives.
Why beds? Because no child should have to sleep on the floor. SHP is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that builds and delivers handmade, fully furnished beds to children in need. Nationally, SHP has delivered more than 300,000 beds. Since 2018, the Omaha chapter has built and delivered over 4,000 beds, but with an estimated 14,000 children still in need, the demand remains urgent.
For us at NP Dodge, this mission couldn’t be more fitting. For 170 years, our company has been rooted in community, service, and care. This bed-building event is more than a milestone celebration, it’s a reflection of who we are and the values that continue to guide us.
How the Community Can Help
While the building itself will be completed by NP Dodge and FNBO volunteers, everyone can play a role in making this project a success.
Here’s how you can support:
- Donate Bedding: Bring brand-new twin-size bedding (sheets, comforters, pillows, or complete sets) to NP Dodge Sales Office (8601 W Dodge Rd, Omaha) during regular business hours. Any style or color is welcome.
- Make a Monetary Donation: Support Dodge Cares and Sleep in Heavenly Peace with a financial gift. Every contribution helps provide comfort and dignity to local kids.
